This account is taken from an original 20 page handwritten document prepared by Luys Fenandez de Biedma, Proctor of the De Soto Expedition. The original document still exists, and though short, it is probably the least controversial of the accounts as it is the only one in the hand of the original "eye witness".

Here we pick up the account in Cofitachique where the expedition has found evidence of an earlier Spanish expedition. From here they march north to Xuala and on to Chiaha. From Chiaha the route back southward to Tascaluza is described.
